PREDIKSI WAKE WASH KAPAL CEPAT BERDASARKAN PENGUJIAN MODEL

Abstract


Kapal yang bergerak di perairan terlebih pada kecepatan yang cukup tinggi akan menimbulkan gelombang Kelvin. Gelombang yang diakibatkan oleh pergerakan kapal cepat yang melintas di dekat pantai atau sungai seringkali menyebabkan permasalahan kerusakan lingkungan. Meningkatnya permasalahan yang ditimbulkan, mendorong perencana kapal untuk mengurangi pengaruh energi gelombang yang ditimbulkan oleh kapal tersebut. Suatu penelitian dengan menggunakan metode pengujian model kapal dilakukan untuk mendapatkan data tinggi gelombang pada beberapa harga y/L dan harga Froude Number yang berbeda. Model kapal untuk pengujian dibuat dari bahan fiberglass dengan skala model tertentu. Dari hasil penelitian diketahui bahwa semakin besar harga y/L (semakin jauh dari garis lintasan kapal), maka semakin kecil nilai tinggi gelombang maksimum yang terjadi. Adapun semakin besar harga Froude Number maka tinggi gelombang maksimum yang terjadi cenderung semakin besar.
