LAJU KOROSI PELAT LAMBUNG KAPAL YANG MENGALAMI DEFORMASI AKIBAT BENTURAN

Abstract


Corrosion is a natural process that can not be avoided, especially in the shipping industry, but at least corrosion can be controlled in terms of safety. In this case it is often found in the repair and replacement of the ship body, especially the lower hull of the water line that has decreased the quality or thickness of high enough diarea affected by deformation due to impact and so on. The objective of this study was to obtain the corrosion rate of the hull plate which experienced deformation due to collision, which was distinguished from the angular form of the deformed bend. The method used in this study is the testers using salt spray test on plate that has been deformed due to collision with reference to the standard ASTM B11-7. From the results of this experiment analysis obtained data that the smaller angle of bend deformation on the hull plate will result in higher corrosion rate.
